Summary: The central theme of this dissertation is a comparison amongst the current cinema production financing mechanisms in Brazil, United States and France. For that it is discussed the arrangements of the cultural field, how the value of symbolic goods are determined, the presence of increasing costs on cinema production, the cinematography current market in each country and its cinema production mechanisms. The research is based on a theoretical-empirical approach, in the light of some key authors that discusses those themes, such as, André Orléan, Pierre, Bourdieu, William Baumol and Alain Herscovici. The analysis and selected indicators shows that the cinema production-financing framework in Brazil does not contributes to the development of its national production when compared to the United States and France. This occurs because it lacks some crucial components to stimulate production. These are mainly intermedia and the cinematography chain regulations, considering the relations between production, distribution and exhibition.
